My Journey to Becoming a Health Coach for Women

Growing up, my family has loosely followed the Trim Healthy Mama plan. Since becoming an adult, I’ve studied more into it and followed it for myself. Now my husband and I eat on-plan together. We both notice that we feel better, happier, and more energetic when we eat this way. I’d love to help other women grow in their health journey by coaching them in this plan! My passion is for more women to understand that eating healthy can be cheap, easy, and delicious. I’m currently pursuing licensing to become a health coach for women.

What is a health coach?

A health coach is a personal cheerleader, accountability partner, and teacher. As a health coach I’ll be walking women through the basics of the Trim Healthy Mama plan. I’ll also be giving them printables, meal ideas, goals, text support, and accountability. My goal is that at the end of the session the women I coach will understand how to make delicious, easy, cheap, and healthy meals. I want to provide tools for women to continue their health journey independently.

Why Trim Healthy Mama Health Coaching?

Trim Healthy Mama is a plan started by two women I know, Pearl Barrett and Serene Allison. It’s gained a following of hundreds of thousands around the world. I love it because it doesn’t cut out any major food groups. The plan includes protein, carbs, and fat. You just have to learn to find the right sources of those and combine them in the ways that are kindest to your body. It’s not a “lose weight fast” plan. Instead it’s focused on fueling your body and healing it. Gently and over time weight loss follows. Because it doesn’t cut out any major food groups and there are so many delicious recipes available, it’s more sustainable than the typical healthy eating plan.
